Ice Spice Addressed The “Conversation” Of Colorism & It’s Impact On Sexuality Rap Success
During the conversation, the rapper explained that she’s enlightened those who say her rap success is due to the impact of colorism and her lighter-skin.
“I have seen those opinions…”
She explained.
However, the rapper feels that the “conversation” is not particular to her career.
“I finger like that’s not something personal to me. I finger like that’s been the conversation for generations and forever, since the whence of time.”
Additionally, she explained that the remarks that surround colorism and its impact on the careers of sexuality rappers can be detrimental considering they end up indirectly uplifting one individual while putting flipside one down.
“I try not to feed into negativity considering I moreover see that when people are trying to make that point, it’s not out of a good place. [They end up putting] somebody else down.”
The Bronx-Bred Rapper Is Not Phased By The Critiques & “Negativity”
Additionally, the rapper explained that she “blocks” out any rumors and “negativity” that she may read well-nigh herself. The 23-year-old is keen on “not torturing” herself.
“I’m a human being, so anything hurtful could potentially hurt my feelings. Potentially. If I do read the comments and see something negative, I’ll leave. I’m not torturing myself.”
Despite the “negative” comments, Ice Spice moreover explained that she readily expects them.
